ninri place is a concept store based in Melbourne, devoted to bringing quiet delight into the everyday.

The name stands for “寧日所” — a place for quiet days. It evokes the feeling of a gentle weekend afternoon, when time slows, the mind softens, and contentment settles in. It reflects our belief that everyday life can be both calm and meaningful, shaped by the objects we choose to live with.

At ninri place, we present a curated collection of ballet flats from Taiwan, traditionally known as hsiu-hua-hsieh (繡花鞋) — embroidered flower shoes. Working closely with local shoemakers, we reinterpret this heritage craft for modern wear, presenting the traditional silhouette as refined ballet flats designed for contemporary life. Each pair carries the patience of skilled hands and the quiet beauty of embroidery passed down through generations.

Our products are sourced directly from a long-standing studio in Tainan City, the former capital of Taiwan, known for its historical buildings and rich culture. It is also our founder’s hometown. By sharing this craft beyond Taiwan, we hope to honour its history while supporting the artisans who continue to keep it alive.
